Carer Awareness Training
“Did you know that when family members, friends or relatives help another person in their day-to-day life, they become their unpaid carer?”
“Did you know that unpaid carers have rights and entitlements under legislation?”
“Did you know that the economic value of carers constitutes to £184 billion each year? (That is size of a second NHS).”
If you didn’t – don’t worry, you’re not alone. Many of us may encounter carers in our working (and personal) lives but don’t know the support that carers are entitled to or how they can access this support.
That is why we have created a free training session for health and social care professionals who work across North Central London. This session is aimed to support those staff members to feel more confident and better able to identify carers and effectively signpost them to support – after all, it is their duty:
The Health and Social Care Act 2022 outlines that that NHS Hospital Trusts have a duty to ensure that unpaid carers are involved as soon as feasible when plans for the patient’s discharge are being made.
