About Camden Carers
Camden Carers exists for an explicit social purpose.
Our vision is: To make Camden a borough where all carers are able to reach their full potential, have support, advice and respite when they need it and feel free to care in a way that is individual to them and their needs.
Our Mission is to give carers a voice, deliver innovative services to the highest standards and support carers to understand their rights and choices.
Our Services for carers in Camden
Camden Carers have a host of services to support you. Not only during the period the person you care for is in or being discharged from hospital but for all the time you are a carer.
Support and Wellbeing Line
Our Support and Wellbeing Line gives you the chance to talk about your caring role with an experienced worker, and get practical advice, information and support in many different areas. We can also signpost you on to other organisations for support.
Counselling Service
Our Counselling Service offers you the chance to talk things over with a trained counsellor, who understands the difficulties you may be experiencing in your caring role.
Carer Conversations
A Carers Conversation (also known as a Carers Assessment) is an opportunity to create a space to talk about you. It’s about helping you to identify the practical, emotional and financial support you may need in your caring role..
Breaks & Activities
The activities we offer can be a great way to build confidence, make new friendships and feel better able to try new things that you will enjoy.
Health & Lifestyle Consultations
When caring for someone else, it is easy to overlook your own health needs. Our HLC service gives you the opportunity to have a chat about your health and wellbeing, and set manageable health goals. You will also receive 3 months of support to achieve those goals.
Peer Groups
Our peer groups give you the opportunity to talk to carers in similar situations. We have groups for carers of people with Dementia and Mental Health. We also have a Black Carers Collective, an Older Carers Group, an LGBTQ+ Carers Group and an Equalities Focus Group.
